Delving into the creative spirit of
humankind and the history that may have sparked
it, has been a fascinating adventure for me.
Vanitha Ilango
Vanita has a degree in Philosophy from the University of Madras. She taught Philosophy, Humanities and World Religions at a local community college after which she worked ” 9 -5 ” at the San Diego County office. She made sure that the creative spirits were not left behind by having bi-monthly bulletins of various artists for all to enjoy.
Retirement led her to the docent training program at the San Diego Museum of Art where she met fellow trainee Ravi Reddy. Subsequently she became a member of SAAC and was introduced to the Binney Collection. The world of miniature art, the artists and their patrons, made an astounding impact on her and she decided to get involved with SAAC.
Vanita is married with two daughters. Her daughters were instrumental in persuading her to join the docent training program.
Vanita’s interests are sketching portraits, writing short stories and quilt making. Reading and learning continue.
